The Power Sunday School Class

For thousands of years people have placed markers of remembrance to mark significant places and events. As we read about Jacob’s amazing personal encounter with God we will see that it moved him to set up a "stone of remembrance" to be sure God’s people would remember HIs promises. It’s a great reminder for us today. Here are the notes for our study in Genesis 28.

Do you feel "less than" because of your flaws? Do you fear that being a flawed human being will prevent you from serving God. Though God doesn’t speak audibly, He still gives guidance to those who have trusted Jesus as Savior and Lord. He gives it through His word, His Spirit, and the counsel of godly people. Think back about the stress of preparing to take an important test. What kind of emotions and physical reactions did a major test bring? Why are tests necessary? Why do tests need to be rigorous (think surgeons, accountants, lawyers, and soldiers)? In God’s “school of faith” there are lessons to learn and tests to see how much our faith in Him has grown. Tomorrow we’ll see an extreme example of this in the life of Abraham. Here are the notes.
